KnowledgeBrain

Terms of Use

Effective date: August 14, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the KnowledgeBrain iOS app (the “App”) provided by pixelart.tech (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Your purchase and use of the App through the Apple App Store are also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), except where these Terms specify otherwise and are permitted by Apple.

1. The App

KnowledgeBrain is a local-first personal knowledge base. You may capture documents, notes, voice memos and other content, search them, and optionally ask questions against your own library.

2. License

The App is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms and Apple’s Standard EULA, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.

3. Purchases

The App is sold as a paid, one-time download. Payment is processed by Apple. We do not collect payment card details. Refunds are handled under Apple’s refund policies.

4. No account

The App does not require an account. We do not operate user accounts or a cloud backend that stores your knowledge for you.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to content you import into the App. Content is stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, content is stored in your private iCloud database; we cannot access it. You are responsible for the content you choose to import and for keeping backups you need.

6. Optional cloud AI (BYOK)

By default the App does not send your content to third-party AI providers. If you enter your own API key and enable a cloud model, prompts and relevant excerpts are sent directly from your device to the provider you configured. We do not operate that service. You are responsible for that provider’s terms, fees, quotas, and data handling.

On supported devices, Apple Intelligence or other on-device models may generate answers locally.

AI-generated text may be incomplete or incorrect. You should verify important information against your original sources.

7. Permissions

Microphone and Speech Recognition are used only for voice notes and are processed on-device.

8. Acceptable use

You may not reverse engineer the App except as allowed by law, interfere with its operation, or use it to violate the rights of others or applicable law.

9. Disclaimer

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, pixelart.tech is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or of third-party AI services you configure. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App.

11. Apple

You acknowledge that Apple is not responsible for the App or for these Terms (except as a third-party beneficiary of Apple’s Standard EULA). Support for the App is provided by pixelart.tech, not Apple.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
